Hide Scraper
c.1930

Wood, iron

Skin Scrapers are used to remove the fat and tissue from animal skins. In the old days, the scraper's sharp front blade would be made from locally sourced copper, and joined to the handle with a thin copper rivet. When iron was introduced to Inuinnait, it quickly replaced copper due to its ability to hold a keener edge.
